Sep 2002	Esprit Turbo	1984	21,000 USD	23,500 miles	Private	Exterior in excellent condition. Interior needed some leather mosturizer in wear locations. Car had always been garaged. Not enough driving caused front rotors to develop "spots" causing excessive vibration when braking. Replaced front rotors, red clutch hose, fuel vapor line, reconnected vacuum lines for heater and replaced Left Front engine mount (usually melts in Turbo's). Repaired engine bay fan controller timer. Car is wonderful to drive. Put on 3k miles in the 2 months that I own it. Sharp handling, excellent performance. I prefer the classic Esprit lines over the newer > 1987 models, which is why I decided for this model, rather than a newer version.

Interior neeeded some tender loving care, but everything cleaned up to like new. There was two problems with the car. The power antena does not work, and the leather by the shifter was worn away. The car was not driven very much in the last ten years and I am finding out that minor things are going wrong with it(hoses, belts, fuel pump) because of this. Currrently in the shop getting a new fuel pump.

The car wasn't driven much by the first owner. The only problems occurred in the first two years and were related to cooling: the remote thermostat has become separated from hoses twice; radiator had to be re-cored. Haven't had a problem with that since. The car has been fine otherwise. It's got a few very small rock chips on the paint and the headliner is starting to sag. Currently I'm preparing it for summer with a new timing belt and carburetter rebuild. It still has low mileage and I haven't a clue what it's worth today, though I think I'd like to replace it with an Esprit SE. Car bought by mr50bmg

Stripped wolfrace rims, new wheel nuts and washers, new nose and wheel badges. Replaced Federal side view mirrors with chrome S1 European mirrors, replaced small after market steering wheel with proper first issue Lotus steering wheel. Replaced Lucas L841 side marker lights with new lights. Rad recore done. 80% restored to original S! showroom. Apprasied at $20,000.00 for insurance purposes. Put over $30,000.00 into vehicle including purchase price taxes, import dues, restoration etc. Built August 1977. One of 474 Federal models built in 1997 for export to North America and Japan.
