It's no secret that the next Super Series is a very important car for McLaren, being the first full model range replacement for the new McLaren Automotive models. Therefore we can expect Woking to pull out all the stops (or whatever the McLaren equivalent is) for the 650S replacement.

, this is now the first look at the outside of the Super Series. The rear wing is specifically in focus (alright, it's all you can see) because McLaren claims this car will have twice the aerodynamic efficiency of a 650S. Maximum downforce is up 50 per cent, cooling efficiency is improved by 15 per cent and the active rear wing can now rise to its most aggressive setting in less than half a second.
Interestingly, though they can't be seen yet, vents to help this aero performance are even included in the doors. A pair of ducts will feature on each door, one to direct air into the radiators and one to draw air away from the front arches for downforce. But we'll have to wait a while to see those.
"The second-generation McLaren Super Series will be as aerodynamically impressive as it is visually beautiful," says Mark Vinnels, McLaren's Executive Director of product development. Expect more hints as to exactly what that look will be as March 7 approaches!
