On 4 March 2005, we reported that David Edgar, the retired engineer who developed a device showing that Gatso speed cameras were mis-calibrated to over-read the speed of passing cars, had failed to show up in court.
In fact this was incorrect, which was due to publishing received information in good faith, for which PistonHeads unreservedly apologises and is happy to put the record straight.
As David Edgar points out on his Web site, he did not attend the Birmingham Magistrates' Court on 1 March 2005 because he was at home on the advice of his medical advisors. The court was aware in advance of his non-attendance as he had twice written to them submitting medical certificates.
