Michael Schumacher may be among the best drivers in the world but his name doesn't sell cars. A Ferrari once owned by Michael Schumacher has been withdrawn from sale on eBay after it failed to get its asking price. The highest bid for the specially equipped Ferrari 550 Maranello was only £50,000.
It did not even do as well as the Pope's old VW Golf which went for £126,360 despite never having been actually driven by Pope Benedict XVI.
eBay officials confirmed that the car, which is currently in Zurich, Switzerland, had been dropped because it had not reached its asking price.
The advert for the car said that test drives were not allowed because "a real Ferrari fan would know that Schumacher would not have owned anything less than the best".
