According to an Autocar story, Chinese company Nanjing Automotive, which bought the remains of the ailing Rover about this time last year, will resume car production at Longbridge. We don't know yet how many jobs will be created but it's unlikely to be as high as the 6,000 posts lost when Rover finally collapsed.
The TF looks to be the most likely car to be built at Longbridge -- and the other motive for using the plant is its paint shop; paint shops are expensive and hard to move.
Full details are to be released by Nanjing, which holds a 33-year lease on part of the site, later in July.
