Hummer not quick enough? During the SEMA show in Las Vegas this week, Antonov, together with Wheel to Wheel Powertrain, is showing a Hummer H3 sporting a two-speed supercharger.
After successful tests with a Ford Mustang equipped with a Supercharger the results of the Hummer H3 were impressive, said the company, as it unleashes 58 per cent more power.
According to product manager Brad Shantry, the device will work on other SUVs too.
Antonov boss Christopher Ross said: "We are happy that next to the successful development of gearbox technology we have been able to develop products like the two-speed supercharger, which have a relatively short time to market. We are very enthusiastic about this development and its reception. It proves again that we are on the proper track.
"After the successful application in the heavy cars, I do expect a big market place from 2-speed Supercharger applications in small engined cars, enabling them to have the same power as larger engines, at lower fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels. The engineering process has been finalised and the device is close to serial production now."
