The Supercar tour last year
Up to 50 supercars will form a procession from the RAC’s headquarters in Pall Mall to Silverstone ahead of the British round of the FIA GT championship on the 4-6th May. The feature GT race of the weekend is run for the Royal Automobile Club’s famous ‘Tourist Trophy’.
In a repeat of last year’s event, the procession of supercars will leave London on Friday morning with a police motorcycle escort and then make the 80 mile journey to Silverstone via a non-motorway route. Once at the track the convoy will complete two or three laps of the Grand Prix circuit.
One of the cars will be chosen by the organisers to lead the procession, and also to carry the trophy up to the circuit for the event. So far, 35 cars are confirmed, including a Bugatti Veyron and a Koenigsegg CCX. If you’ve the necessary garage contents the remaining places cost £345 each (for a driver and one passenger including breakfast at the RAC, weekend race passes and VIP hospitality).
