Ferrari’s latest celebration of its 60
anniversary involves 200 posters depicting the marque’s success on the race tracks of the world since 1947.
The collection contains the works of artists such as Fortunato Depero, Gino Boccasile, Marcello Dudovich, and Plinio Codognato, who - we are told in a move that really pushes the envelope of the PH office's knowledge of art - ‘with their respective styles are great interpreters of the art nouveau, futurism, and abstractionism’. The unique collection belongs to Sergio Cassano.
Complementing the poster exhibition are some of the most important cups won by Ferrari over the years, and two prestigious race cars from the 1950s - the 500 F2 and the 750 Monza.
The 500 F2, the first car manufactured in Maranello with a straight-4 engine, participated in 15 races of the World Championship, winning 14 of them and taking two world championships in the process. Of those victories, 11 were with the legendary Alberto Ascari at the wheel.
The 750 Monza made its debut at the 1,000 kilometres of Monza in 1954 and took Ferrari to the sports car world championship that year.
A visit to the exhibition is included in the entrance ticket to the Ferrari Galleria at the Ferrari factory, which is open every day from 9.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. the whole summer season.
