Race entries for the new Thursday evening motor racing series ‘Powernights’ are now being accepted.
The first ‘Powernights’ event will be staged at Silverstone on Thursday 2nd August with the second at Donington Park on Thursday 9th August, and the third at Silverstone on Thursday 30th August.
Each of the events will be open to the public from 5pm following a full day of testing and qualifying. The eight race event will begin at 6pm, with a post race awards ceremony, paddock BBQ and entertainment open to all spectators and competitors, marshals and officials.

- Invitation Saloons - Ford Saloons, Alfa Romeo, VW Cup & BMW up to 2 litres
- Invitation Ginettas - All Ginetta Championship Cars
- Invitation Hatchbacks - Ford Fiestas, XR, Fiat Uno/Punto, MG ZR race cars
- Invitation Classic Saloons - Masters Top Hat Saloons & Other Classic Groups TBA
- Invitation Porsche - All Porsche Club, Open Championship and 924 race cars
- Invitation Mazda MX5 - All Mazda MX5 race cars
- Invitation Sports 2000 - All Sports 2000 race cars
- Invitation Radicals - All Biduro & Enduro race cars
- Invitation Formula Ford - All Formula Ford race cars
Interest from other suitable race groups will be considered...
Racing at 'Powernights' will be by invitation only for cars that fall into the categories above. A total of 4 race groups will feature with double-header races at each event. The events are not rounds of any other championship or series.
Each race is run to a ‘10 minute plus 1 lap’ format with the second of each double-header race run in reverse finishing order to the first race results.Some races may run a pursuit-start format to equalize performance difference.
The entry fee for the day is £250 (up to 30th June and £300 after) per race car and each entry receives:
- 9am to 3.30pm testing in sessions plus a qualifying session and two 10 minute plus one lap races
- Pit garage allocation to early entrants
- Six team personnel passes, a paddock vehicle pass and a competitor car park pass.
- Four copies of the event souvenir programme.
- Six event public adult entry tickets for friends/family, valued at £15 each (Extra at special rate).
- Two post race evening BBQ Vouchers (Extra at special rate)
- Two race number panels.
Porsche 924s will also be on the grid
Each event will have a 60 minute dedicated programme shown on Motors TV and a £4,000 minimum prize fund. Motorsport News and Motors TV have been confirmed as event media partners and Scalextric will be the first series sponsor.
