Here’s one of the all-time classic Hondas in need of some TLC – and we’ve fallen for it in a big way.
You’ve got to respect any performance car that’s led the life, and with 180,000 on the clock, this CRX has certainly done that. For the purists among us, it’s also nice to see one without any of the go-faster trappings, although that is of course, a matter of personal preference.
The nimble little wedge, with its characteristic rear glass, front wheel drive, sporting cockpit and engaging entertainment factor has always been a favourite of ‘Shed’. We also think it looks particularly fine in retro white.
This Mk2 CRX dates from a time when Honda was creating some of their most original machines; technologically advanced cars - with flair, and yet with a certain understatement - and of course, resolutely reliable. This diminutive hero stood alongside the NSX and the Prelude in Honda’s sporting range at the time. A different world…
High miles CRX needs a new home
None of that has stopped the evil old tin worm though, but the vendor promises some new panels in the deal, so perhaps all is not lost. We think it deserves a good home…
