A Panamera prototype has been photographed virtually undisguised while out testing.
It's all in the headlights
The mule reveals just about all of the finished Panamera shape including previously hidden details such as the rear wing.
That wing in question is a small, retractable item, unlike the large item the previous disguise seemed to suggest.
Also on show are a set of elongated headlights that have more in common with the 996 variant of the 911 rather than the current 997.
Although there is still a small ammount of disguise at the rear, a hatchback-style boot lid and brake lights that wrap around the back of the car are visible.
Wrap arond lights, hatchback and wing? Check!
The Panamera is due for launch in 2009 as part of the 2010 model year line up, and is expected to have a similar range of engines to the Cayenne SUV.
The Panamera will compete against the Mercedes CLS and Maserati Quattroporte in a growing niche of the market which may also soon include BMW.
Question is, has Porsche 'done another Cayenne' in the looks department?
