The Z4 Coupe arrived the Monday prior to Le Mans weekend with just 40 miles on the clock and perfect paintwork. However, that didn’t stop Racing Pete and I grabbing a box full of PH stickers and applying as many as we could to those complex curves. I then prepared myself for the running in period with a four pack of Red Bull and a Mars Bar and set off for France. The trip told me all I needed to know: VXX (as it’s now known) was properly fast, felt very secure when hooning and sounded absolutely fantastic.
3,000 miles and a couple of months later and I love the car even more - It just gets better. To add some weight to that, I have had to jump start my Boxster S twice now through lack of use since VXX arrived. Even when a run-flat tyre punctured last week (not the fault of the car, I know) causing wallet damage to the tune of almost £200 I still didn’t lose the love.
I’ve met a lot of PHers with the car, and hope to see more of you at the forthcoming BMW meet (see PH calendar August 26
). If you see me on the street come and say hello. But more importantly I’d like to ask all Z4 owners to email me (

) as I have an idea for my next report that involves you!
