Grey and pink?! Such a clash, daaaaahhling
In some offices, minor misdemeanours can be left unpunished. However, Thai police now have to be especially wary because they’re going to be penalised with a bright pink ‘Hello Kitty’ armband if they're caught breaking the rules.
Officers could earn the pink band of doom, which features the cutesy Japanese cartoon character, for offfences including talking to civilians aggressively or failing to turn their car engines off when parked.
Police Colonel Pongpat Chayaphan commented: “I chose this symbol because it is pink and easy to see.”
He also said that he hoped the armband would shame the officers, encouraging them not to break the rules.
In addition to the armband, offending officers will be accompanied for the day by the duty deputy chief.
We wonder if a similar system could start here?
