Two traffic police officers from Lincolnshire have

been caught on their own in-car traffic camera making abusive comments about members of the public.
PCs Adrian Wooton and Robert Topliss were recorded discussing how they should both be promoted, accusing their bosses of being ‘lazy’. The officers also chatted about wanting to have sex with a girl they had just passed in the car.
The outbursts were only brought to attention when motorist James Chinn had been recorded speeding on the same in-car camera. Mr Chinn appealed against losing his licence for driving without due care and attention and the tape was played in court in its entirity.
At one point in the recording, the traffic officers ask each other: “Is the tape running?”
Deputy Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police, Richard Crompton, said: “The conduct of the two officers fell well below the standard we expect and demand, and is being dealt with.”
