We have been alerted to the fact that scam advertisers are using the PistonHeads name and the site skin to convince people to part with their hard earned money for cars that don't exist.
If you respond to an advert and the seller tells you that the car is overseas, be wary. If they tell you to transfer some funds into an account or to a shipping company then leave well alone. Nobody sells a car in this way, you WILL NOT see your money again.
Usually they will refer you to a web page for a shipping company, but these thieving barstewards have ripped off our home page to scam PHers specifically- have a look at this
This is clearly not part of PH, and we are taking steps to have it removed as I write this, but take a look while you can and tell anyone you know who is thinking of buying a car from PH currently.
Thanks to all who have been e mailing us when you spot a scam ad, it has certainly helped us keep on top of things. But they aren't going away so please keep them coming.
Similar scammers are also on E Bay so be wary.
