Tory MP for Scarborough Robert Goodwill had concerns over the amount of cloned car number plates currently in circulation in the UK and was frustrated at the lack of interest shown by the Government.
To prove his point he made a note of the registration number of Gordon Browns Jag and ordered a set of plates online for £20. He didn't need to produce the log book nor any other form of ID, and the plates were sent to him in the post two days later.
Around 25,000 people in Britain are using false plates, and by ordering online and declaring them for 'show use only' you are not breaking the law, making it easy for anyone to clone your number.
Mr Goodwill failed to comment on whether he had sped through a few Gatsos while showing Gordon's number, but he hopes his actions will prompt PM Brown to do something about plate cloning.
Oh look, there's my car.....
