It seems that the German tuning firms have got a bit of a thing for Crewe’s finest. Motoren Technik Mayer, that’s MTM for short, is the latest outfit to have a go at tuning the Bentley GTC, and after the slightly mental Le Mansory we featured earlier this week, this one is a return to the trademark sobriety we’d usually associate with the land of Vorsprung Durch Technik.
Called the Birkin Edition, the only exterior mods are some in-house developed 21” Bimoto wheels. However under the bonnet, there are a number of upgrade packages you can apply to make your GTC quite insanely quick.
MTM has concentrated its effort of giving the W12 engine a bit more poke. They are no stranger to pretty hardcore engine conversions, as the guys are responsible for the twin-engined Audi TT which cracked 244mph last week.
Package one is an ECU fiddle which gives a healthy extra 75bhp over standard, while package two adds a tuned exhaust and more ECU tweaks to give 650bhp and a massive 586lb-ft of twist. In this guise, the car has cracked 205mph at Nardo in Italy. MTM also offers a suspension electronics package, which was developed at Hockenheim and lowers the suspension electronically, and a big brake kit too.
MTM is also working on a tuning kit for the newly-launched Bentley Speed GT which is good for 750bhp.
