A new study shows that a third of British men spend £20,000 on car accessories such as spoilers, alloys and novelty wing mirrors, during their lifetime.
Men aren't as generous when it comes to splashing the cash on their loved ones however - on average women were bought a gift once every two months.
British males also admitted to lavishing more time on their vehicles than their other halves.
Of the men polled, 44 per cent said they had given their car some TLC within the past fortnight, with one in five spending more than two hours cleaning and polishing their vehicles.
One in ten confessed to having never shown the same attention to their partners.
