The supermarket chain ASDA is aiming to bring to an end the selfish motorist who blags parent-and-toddler and disabled car parking spaces when they don't have reason to.
Asda says it's had enough of the space invaders and is introducing traffic wardens to patrol some of its car parks and slap £50 fines on those who leave their vehicle where it doesn't belong.
Initially, the clampdown is being tried at six stores in the Merseyside area, but could well spread to other parts. Asda says it is acting to stop abuse of its system following the failure of gentle persuasion.
