Cops in Manchester have seized an incredible 25,000 cars since new powers to tackle rogue drivers were introduced......And they crushed 10,000 of them!
The rest have been handed back to owners once they have paid any fines, recovery fees and made their motors roadworthy.
Police say the streets are safer as more rogue drivers are off the road.
Officers use mobile cameras which instantly check registrations against a series of databases to snare rogues who either do not have the correct documentation or who are wanted for a crime.
Each driver caught is issued with a £200 on-the-spot fine or handed a greater fine in court - depending on the state of their car and documentation.
The scheme started in January last year which means, over the past 22 months, an average of more than 1,000 cars have been seized each month.
