Oh yes, i'm the daddy now
If you want to be someone, or at least show you are someone, then a silver car is all you need, claims a new study.
Apparently, status concious motorists prefer to drive silver cars with nearly one in three used car buyers specify silver as their preferred option.
This, say psychologists, shows a desire to be seen as having wealth and prestige.
The metallic look pushes 'calmer and more relationship-focused' blue car drivers into second place on popularity.
Dealership chain Carcraft carried out the research which showed that blue - the choice for 'calmer motorists' - overtook black to take second place in the poll.
Silver cars are preferred by 30% of used car buyers while black (at 17%) is chosen by those who have a desire to stamp their authority on other road users.
Red car drivers are 'wild and in charge of any situation'.
Grey is picked by 8.5% of motorists, showing a sign of stability and reliability, while green (5.5%) is for those who are conscientious and try to smooth over tense situations.
