Now where did I park my car?
A seaside resort without any parking wardens is witnessing a fiasco as motorists park illegally as there's no enforcement of parking regulations on the streets.
Since a controversial pay to park scheme in Eastbourne was dramatically scrapped earlier this month, parking meters have been turned off and NCP wardens who were due to start patrolling the town centre controlled parking zone and the seafront have been put on hold.
Traffic wardens employed by Sussex Police were also moved to another town in anticipation of the scheme coming into operation.
Motorists are parking illegally on double yellow lines and parking all day in two hour zones and loading bays in the town centre and along the seafront.
The parking mayhem has stemmed from the county council's decision to abandon the pay to park scheme after an eleventh hour legal challenge by Eastbourne Borough Council which questioned the legality of the county bringing in the scheme under an experimental traffic order.
Sussex Police say they are working closely with both the county and borough councils to look at ways of providing interim measures for parking control within the town.
