Sussex police are attempting to get down with the kids by taking a police-liveried Exige S on tour.
The car has been fully prepared with reflective stickers and flashing blue lights, and will be used by the force over the next six months in a bid to curb the number of accidents involving young drivers.
According to Sussex police sergeant Paul Masterson, the police have difficulty because they “can never engage directly with young people, and tell them about the dangers they're causing.” He added "When we pull up in this Lotus, however, it's a completely different story. In fact, it's usually them that are approaching us to have a look at the car!"
While the Lotus is particularly handy when up and running, you wouldn’t bet on the police driver’s ability to unfold themselves from the low-slung seats and over the sills to actually make an arrest.
Mind you, the Aussies don't seem to have much trouble in their version, which went into service for real earlier this year.
