The first Russian Veyron comes in to land
Capitalising on the rising levels of gas and oil-fuelled prosperity in Russia, Bugatti has just opened its Moscow showroom to sell a few more Veyrons.
In an agreement with Mercery, who already look after Bentley’s interests in Russia, the first day of the launch was held at their showroom in central Moscow.
The following day, Bugatti invited prospective customers to a super-swanky launch event at the Barvija Luxury Village – the venue where Maserati also chose to attempt to woo Russia’s richest into swapping their hard-earned for a GranTurismo.
Amazingly, those with the cash, and the stones, to take a test drive were allowed to venture out onto the streets.
Bearing in mind that the average temperature in Moscow at this time of year just creeps into single figures, and it was snowing, amazingly several buyers took the wheel.
An initial import run of ten cars is planned, and we have heard that the first car has already been snapped up.
We can’t help wondering if it’s been bought by the same Russian oil tycoon who lives in the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, and has his Veyron there tuned to 1,200bhp.
