Road rage has officially been taken to a new level.
Two men in Australia allegedly armed themselves with 2.5m-long spears and took off in pursuit of a car.
The two suspects, aged 20 and 23, were said to have chased another vehicle and threatened the two male occupants as they drove towards an Australian mining town.
After tailgating the other car with their headlights on full beam they pulled up alongside and one of the men leaned out of the window and launched a huge spear, police said.
The ceremonial spear hit the driver's door, police said.
It was at this point the victims, aged 18 and 22, decided to speed up, overtake a few cars and head for the nearest police station.
But their pursuers had one more spear and as they pulled into the driveway of the Nhulunbuy Police Station the offenders threw it at them.
This time the spear struck the car's rear window, said police.
The offenders fled the area but were later arrested by police. They were reportedly remanded in custody for today's court appearance.
The driver has also been charged with not wearing a seatbelt and letting his passenger not wear one, reported Northern Territory News.
