There was further confirmation at the Tokyo Motor Show that BMW’s stunning CS Concept is heading for production.
The four-seater concept is bigger than a current 7 Series and will take on the Mercedes CLS, Maserati Quattroporte and upcoming Porsche Panamera.
Word from Tokyo is that the production version will be little changed from the concept, which shows BMW’s new styling direction.
BMW’s North American CEO Tom Purves confirmed at the Tokyo show that BMW will build the CS.
‘Our dealers, having seen the photos, are very excited,’ he told reporters.
‘They love it. If media and dealers like it, there's a good chance the customers will.’
The CS Concept is said to share its platform with the next generation 7 Series and is rumoured to be powered by a 6.0 litre V12 based on the current M5’s V10.
