Premiership footballers must have been splashing the cash recently as Bentley has reported an increase in sales volume, revenue and operating profit.
Turnover in the period January to September 2007 increased to more than €1 billion, an improvement of 19.3% over the same period last year.
Worldwide sales of Bentleys to the end of the third quarter were over 7,800 cars, up around 19% on the same period last year.
The big boost to sales was emerging markets like China, up by around 72%, while there was continued success in the UK and Europe.
The demand for Bentleys was spearheaded by the success of the Continental GTC convertible.
Sales of the flagship Arnage and Azure range increased by 75% year-on-year, fuelled by the success of the new Azure convertible.
‘Our continuing strong product-led performance in the third quarter means that Bentley is on track for a fourth consecutive year of growth in worldwide sales and profitability,’ said Stuart McCullough, Bentley’s Member of the Board, Sales and Marketing.
