One of the guarantees about the new Mitsubishi Evo X is that it won’t be short of power. The X and its nine predecessors have never been short of a few bhp.
However, if you gave the Mitsubishi designers free reign to come up with a worthy future successor to the mighty Evos, what would the result be? Well, thanks to toy-maker Mattel we now have the answer.
As part of their contribution to the SEMA show, and to celebrate its 40th anniversary, Mattel inaugurated the Hot Wheels Designer's Challenge, where it set six car manufacturers the challenge of creating some new car designs.
Seven finalists were announced, and one of those successful is this ultimate Mitsubishi of the future, the Double Shotz, created by Mitsubishi Motors Research and Design of America (MRDA) employee, Gary Ragle.
Apparently, the car is supposed to represent the spirit of Mitsubishi’s future, by packaging not one but two 4G63 engines into a sculpted body.
Speaking at the show, Ragle said "The design takes the concept of the Lancer Evolution to the next level and ties it in with the enjoyment and imagination of the Hot Wheels brand."
Sadly, there are absolutely no plans to put this bad-boy into production, but this car, along with the other six finalists will be turned into production toys and go on sale next year.
