The new Alfa Spider is a pretty car but it always seemed more at home cruising to the hairdressers rather than howling around a racetrack.
Renowned Alfa nutters Autodelta have put a stop to that with their latest creation, the J6 3.2 C.
The ‘C’ in the title is for ‘Compressore’, meaning the car has a supercharger under the bonnet, boosting power by 88bhp to 348bhp.
It follows on from Autodelta’s Brera J5 of a year ago, and the supercharging system is the C30-94 unit supplied by Rotrex.
Autodelta says the car remains just as useable as the standard Spider but the J6 will now hit 161mph.
0-62mph now takes 5.4 seconds instead of the standard car’s 7.0 seconds.
An entirely new bespoke stainless steel exhaust has been developed to maximise exhaust gas flow.
To keep the car on the road Autodelta has used coilovers from the J5, but they have been re-valved to offer excellent ride comfort whilst improving handling.
Much of the development of the car took place on tracks such as Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring.
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres on the Spider J6 3.2 C run on wheels supplied by OZ 19” Ultraleggera .
The Spider J6 3.2 C features uprated brake discs, which are additionally cross-drilled and new special compounds brake pads.
No Autodelta car would be complete without some serious restyling and the J6 has a new front bumper, side skirts and rear diffuser.
