This is the Viper with far more bite – Dodge’s new SRT10 ACR.
Talk of a more focused Viper has been circulating the web for a while but now we finally have some details.
Looking like it’s taken a wrong turn out of the pit lane, the ACR Viper looks barely road legal and carries what looks to be one of the biggest ‘viper stripes’ ever.
Weight is down and power is up, the car now producing around 600 bhp thanks to a total overhaul of the car’s induction system.
Country and Western is no longer an option as the radio has been taken out and replaced with a lightweight cover.
The V10 is linked to Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission, dubbed TR6060.
There is a carbon fibre ‘fanged’ splitter and huge rear wing that is said to have been sculpted by CFD or Computational Fluid Dynamics.
'Each Viper SRT-10 ACR also includes a track extension that replaces the center splitter rub strip and fills out the fanged splitter scallop for closed-circuit events,' Chrysler said.
'The aerodynamic effect of the track extension is a reduction in overall drag and an increase in front downforce of nearly one-third.'
No word yet on performance but in the US it is expected to cost less than £50,000.
