It is generally accepted that the only Ferraris that are allowed to go off road are the ones that run out of grip while charging around a racetrack.
But that could be about to change as it is rumoured Ferrari has given the green light to an SUV.
There has been talk of an off-road Ferrari for some time but website TopSpeed claims a Chelsea tractor carrying the Prancing Horse logo will be here in 2010.
It is suspected Ferrari have been spurred into action by talk of a Lamborghini SUV, thanks in part to Porsche blazing the trail with the Cayenne.
According to reports the Ferrari SUV could share a platform with a Maserati offering.
It is also expected to be slightly larger than a BMW X5 and be powered by the same V12 as the 599 GTB.
Whatever next? A prancing horse box..?
