Yesterday we brought you news of the Maybach 57 hitting 205 mph at the 2007 Nardo Highspeed event.
However this speed looked rather pedestrian compared to the mtm Audi TT Bimoto, which is a familiar sight at this type of occasion.
Anyone who remembers the original TT’s stability problems at birth may wonder why creators mtm picked it to go at insane speeds, but it seems to work.
OK, so there were ‘extremely difficult weather conditions’ so you’d think the mtm boys took it easy.
In fact the Bimoto, driven by the current champion of the Seat Supercopa 2006 Florian Gruber also currently driving in the Porsche Carrera Cup, easily reached the highest speed from the 13 participating cars.
Because of weather conditions the car did ‘only’ 242.72 mph.
MTM-Director Roland Mayer is confident the Bimoto is set to beat the magic mark of 400 km/h (248.5 mph) and that another attempt will be made in Papenburg where the bimoto recently set the track record of 393km/h (244.2 mph).
