Radical Sportscars is set to unveil its new SR5 and SR8 models at Autosport International in January.
The company has revealed the new cars will incorporate many features developed on the SR9 Le Mans prototype.
The aero package has been revised and will include a new nose, re-profiled front and rear diffusers, all new sidepods, a new cooling system and a re-profiled rear wing.
A new crash box also complies with the latest FIA safety regulations.
The Radical SR5 is fitted with the latest, more powerful, K20A Powertec Honda engine, a Hewland transaxle and a Powertec semi-automatic flat shift and auto blipper system.
The SR8 has a new eight-throttle body induction system for the Powertec RPA 2.6 litre V8 which releases a further 20bhp, giving 380bhp in total.
A new 455bhp 2.8 litre version of the Powertec V8 is also available for racing at non-Radical organised events.
Radical co-founder, Mick Hyde said the aim was to make Radicals faster but at the same time more usable.
‘ Naturally we continue to develop our flagship cars, reducing lap times and improving driveability year on year,’ he said.
‘With these new cars we are also taking major steps forward in driver safety.
‘We will put the chassis through the same rigorous tests that our SR9 LMP2 car had to endure.
‘We have also introduced a head restraint system and a Radical HANS device. You can’t have too much safety.’
The cars will be shown for the first time on the Dunlop “Great & British” Motorsport Festivals stand at Autosport International.
