Alfa Romeo is to launch the 147 Ducati Corse, a special edition that brings together two great Italian motorsport names.
Surprisingly the Ducati Corse is diesel powered, with a new 170 bhp 1.9 JTDM engine under the bonnet, with 0-62 mph in eight seconds and a top speed of 134 mph.
The Ducati Corse has ‘Q2' self-locking front differential which the company says reduces understeer and increases traction.
On the tunnel inside the cockpit there is a sport button which varies the mapping of the accelerator pedal.
The driver has the option of a “touristy” mapping or a more sporty configuration which enhances the car’s response.
The car also has lowered suspension and, according to Alfa, a ‘tough’ look.
There is three colours - Giulietta red, micalized black and ice white – and new bits of chrome stuck on below the indicators.
There is a chrome exhaust and optional red brake callipers behind exclusive red-edged 18” alloys.
Although a UK car is not confirmed an Alfa spokeswoman said a British version is likely.
