The Brabus does its best beetle impression
It must be an odd feeling to buy a Mercedes McLaren SLR Roadster, drive it for a bit and come to the conclusion that what it really needs is more power and a bit more aggression in the looks department.
But obviously some people do, and for them there is Brabus.
The firm used the Essen show to unveil their version of the Roadster, which of course was in moody black.
The car only has a performance increase of 24 bhp, thanks to special camshafts and a new exhaust.
The car now does 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds, compared to 3.8 for the standard car, and top speed is up 2 mph to 209.
Brabus claims the car now has less lift at the front thanks to a new carbon fibre spoiler and there is a Brabus diffuser at the back.
The car has been fitted with Brabus 20” wheels and there is a smattering of carbon fibre inside.
No word on price yet but it is likely to be a case of if you have to ask…
