If you thought BMW was about to give us a break from its endless reinvention of the new new Mini I’m afraid it appears you are mistaken.
Not content with the latest Clubman and the expected SUV version, rumour has it that the company is looking at a coupe Mini.
Seemingly trying to fill every niche possible with one small car, BMW is said to be considering a sleek small coupe similar to 1997’s ACV 30.
MotoringFile.com said it had spoken to a high level source at MINI about the possibility of a coupe.
The source reportedly said the idea of a Triumph-branded roadster had not been received well in the company but posed the question: ‘What if MINI instead produced a low-slung and sleek small coupe not unlike the ACV 30 concept car from 1997?’
If true the Mini really could be on course for world domination, although it doesn’t appear that BMW has yet thought of a supercar Mini, so if it does happen I want to take the credit for that idea.
