Expect more traffic tomorrow
PistonHeads has received a call this morning advising us of a planned fuel protest to take place tomorrow morning.
Details are minimal, but we learn that 20 articulated trucks will be attempting a slow drive around Parliament Square mid morning tomorrow. The aim of this is to bring traffic to a standstill to coincide with Gordon Brown arriving at Parliament for Prime Ministers Questions. It is hoped that the late arrival of the Prime Minister will highlight the fuel protests and encourage MPs to react.
A spokesman for militant motoring group MAD, who styles himself Captain Gatso, said his group was committed to disrupting Mr Brown's journey to Parliament.
The aim is to gridlock his chauffeur-driven car and force him to walk to Prime Minister's Question time in the House of Commons said the Captain.
This also serves as an early warning to any PHers who need to be in that area tomorrow morning- it sounds like the traffic congestion will take some time to subside.
The planned protests for Saturday are being looked at closely by the Government and they plan to use anti terror laws and possibly the military stop the protest from happening- in addition to this the NPOIU- National Public Order Intelligence Unit- are also looking at ways of halting the protests before they have started.
