Here’s a quick update to let you know the latest about next month’s PistonHeads Show at the NEC on January 11 to 13.
There will be lots of interesting metal on display including an array of TVR’s, a load of Ferraris, more Porsches than you can shake a stick at, and lots more besides. Expect to see Tamoras, T350’s, Sagaris’s, Tuscans and Cerberas, as well as Ultima GTR’s, Lotus Exiges, Elises and Esprits, and some Lamborghinis.
AmD Technik has recently confirmed it will be at the show and on display will be the Porsche GT3 Cup car- Britcar 24HR race winning with AmD Technik tuning; the most successful VW Cup car ever, a VW Golf MK4 R32 with KW Suspension, H+R Anti- Roll bars, Milltek exhaust and AmD Technik tuning, and an Audi S3 with Milltek exhaust and AmD Technik tuning. There will also be free fitting on any parts bought at the show when ordered with an AmD Technik Re-Map.
Another deal at the NEC that weekend, this one at Autosport International, is with auto accessory
firm Richbrook. The company sells official licensed collections for Fords and Vauxhall and there will be 10% off all show prices.
If you want your journey to the show to be a little bit different it is worth looking at two hoons taking place.
The team at StreetSafari has arranged two drive outs, taking place on Saturday 12th January, one from the North and one from the South to get you to the NEC in time for a few beers and a curry on the Saturday night before heading to the show on the Sunday morning. Hotels will need to be booked separately.
The Northern Run starts at East Pavilion, Leeds United Football Ground, Elland Road, Leeds. Car park opens at 10am for a midday start. The route takes in the best roads the Pennines has to offer including the fabulous Snake Pass- this is the route for the enthusiastic drivers amongst you. You will arrive at Birmingham NEC for around 5pm. Entry is free of charge.
The Southern Run starts at Dunsfold Park, Surrey, more commonly known as the Top Gear track! There is a £10 entry fee to Dunsfold which will be split between the Surrey Community Trust and the Richard Burns Foundation. Dunsfold Parkwill be available from 10am with a midday start for the run. The run to the NEC will be started with a convoy lap around the Top Gear track. After this you will wind your way up through Surrey, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. The roads are a mixture of fast A roads to small B roads and everything in between, finishing at Birmingham NEC for around 5pm
StreetSafari will be handing out booklets before each run detailing the route, along with a map, so that you can move at your own pace and not worry about getting lost.
