A vintage tractor that has been in a shed for over ten years has been given a parking ticket.
Police believe the owner is a victim of vehicle ‘cloning’ and have warned him to expect further penalties.
Derek Coldrick, 61, reportedly received the £60 fine from Hertfordshire Council who claimed the 1957 Ferguson had been parked illegally in Broad Street, Hertfordshire.
But the tractor has been in his storage shed since he bought it in £600 in 1994 hoping to restore it.
He has recently painted it but the tractor has never left his premises.
‘When I saw the letter it was a big shock, but after seeing the registration I realised it was not for my car but for the tractor in my shed,’ he said.
‘To my knowledge the tractor has never been out of it.
‘I think I would have been pulled over very quickly if I had been spotted. It would have been even funnier if it had been a speeding ticket
‘It is an amazing vehicle but you could barely get it to the edge of town, let alone Hereford.’
