Step 1: A bus is smaller than a Mini
Mr Bean may not be the first person you would turn to for driving tips but the character is now helping make Dubai bus drivers safer on the roads.
Apparently episodes of Mr Bean are being shown to hundreds of public transport bus drivers as an example of what not to do when behind the wheel.
When in his Mini the character, played by Rowan Atkinson, drives erratically and shows little regard for other users.
The screenings are part of a safety awareness campaign which means bus drivers have to undergo refresher courses.
Terry Reynolds, managing director of RogenSi Middle East, consultants working with the Public Trasnport Agency to make bus drivers safer, said: ‘Drivers under the programme have realised they have no control over certain things such as traffic or disgruntled passengers.
‘So, the best way to deal with it is to take a deep breath and move on, because the only one you can control is yourself.’
