Audi has become famous for its fast estates but with the last generation RS4 hanging in there the new A4 clearly could do with a bit more power.
Tuner Abt hasn’t wasted any time beefing up the A4 Avant and although we think the end result isn’t too bad.
However just because everyone else is putting vents on the side of their cars there is no reason for you to have a chunk cut out of the wing.
The good news is that not only is there a lowered and tweaked suspension, improved brakes and the obvious bodykit, the car benefits from more power.
The bad news for some is that the tuning efforts appear to be so far based largely around the diesel engines.
The 1.8 litre petrol unit now pushes out either 200bhp or 240bhp, but the big power comes from the 3.0TDI which can either have 240bhp or 310bhp.
The extra power comes from an ECU remap and a tweaked turbo.
There’s a new four-pipe exhaust system and leather and carbon-look bits and pieces inside.
The 18” to 20” wheels are a new Abt design.
