Porsche hopes to quash C-Charge hike
London borough of Kensington and Chelsea is understood to be joining Porsche’s fight against the proposed hike in the Congestion Charge.
Porsche has launched a legal battle against Mayor Ken Livingstone’s bid to up the C-Charge to £25 for the highest polluting cars.
According to the Kensington and Chelsea council said it was an ‘interested party’ in the carmaker’s bid to quash the planned rise.
The council would not elaborate on its comments.
The planned increase is due on October 27 and Transport for London has vowed to fight Porsche’s legal challenge.
Andy Goss, Managing Director of Porsche GB, said: ‘I am pleased that Kensington and Chelsea have joined us in our fight against this unfair, counter-productive tax against motorists.
‘It is becoming increasingly clear that Londoners are rejecting this unfair £25 charge that will likely make congestion and global warming worse than it is today.’
