Catch me if you can! Oh, you have...
So you’re sitting with your date in a restaurant and you whisper to her to wait outside while you go and fetch the new ‘Carrera’.
Imagine the surprise on her face when you pull up outside in a VW van, whisking the Daily Sport off the seat as she climbs in.
Never going to happen? Er, well, actually it just has.
After years of building the ‘Carrera’ brand, Porsche has made the jaw-dropping move of letting VW use it on a new special-edition van.
The Caddy Carrera Cup will be available in Sweden as a limited run of 250 vans.
Perhaps they sell too many Porsche 911s in Sweden and not enough vans - but it is true, although we didn’t believe it at first.
The special-edition version is equipped with VW’s 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, which develops 140bhp and catapults the Caddy van from zero to 62mph in a heady 10.6sec.
It gets a bodykit, big wheels and the same side graphics as Porsche’s own.
Inside, the Caddy Carrera Cup Edition features two-tone leather sports seats, a fire extinguisher (for when you drop a roll-up on the seat presumably) and a sports steering wheel.
Prices are set at about £17,000.
