Porsche's stylists hadn't worked too hard
Porsche is planning to bring out a hot hatch in 2012, it has emerged.
The company is rumoured to be looking towards the Mark 6 Golf as a basis for its new entry-level model and is targeting the BMW 1-Series.
Since the success of the Cayenne/ Toureg partnership it is understood that VW and Porsche are looking at sharing more components and technology.
Luxury small cars are all the rage at the moment and thanks to increasing pressure from environmentalists it may make sense for Porsche to look for sales in this segment.
Unfortunately there’s little more than rumour but our guess is that in line with Porsche’s er, relaxed approach to styling, expect it to look similar to the rest of the range – just a bit smaller.
