Toyota has released pictures of the all-new, British-built Avensis ahead of the Paris Motor Show. The car replaces the dull original and has chunky, if a little uninspired, styling. The new Avensis will go on sale in January next year and features engines that are both more powerful and emit less CO2.

The Avensis will be joined at the show by two other cars – the iQ and the Urban Cruiser - which were both showcased in design concept form at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

The iQ measures less than three metres long and is the world’s smallest premium four seater. The 1.4-litre D-4D diesel all-wheel drive Urban Cruiser has high levels of safety equipment and CO2 emissions level of 133g/km.
