GM has quietly released the first official picture of the top-of-the-range 2010 Camaro SS on its media website. The SS will have a 6.2-litre V8 and comes with either a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual gearbox.
The manual is mated to GM’s 6.2 LS3 motor, which generates 422bhp and 408lb ft of torque. The auto gets the trick L99 6.2 V8, which is based on the LS3 but includes GM’s fuel-saving Active Fuel Management feature that enables the engine to run on only four cylinders, making it more fuel efficient. This engine pumps out around 400bhp and GM estimates 23mpg during motorway driving.
