These pictures show what the Renault Megane three door could look like when it goes on sale in early 2009. According to the guys over at Carscoop the images have come from a patent application made within the EU and are pretty much what the production car will look like. The three-door could even be sold as a coupe, in the same way as the new SEAT Ibiza, and as such it has a far neater design than the five-door.
The engines are likely to be the same as the five-door: 1.6-litre units developing 100 and 110 HP, a 2.0-litre motor with 140 HP and two new turbocharged units, the 1.4-liter TCe producing 130 HP and the 2.0-litre TCe with 180 HP.
There will also be a choice of diesel units. Also expect a range-topping RenaultSport version at a later date.
