It is no secret that Gordon Murray, the man behind the McLaren F1, is now working on a car that is the complete opposite of the iconic three-seat supercar. Murray is now putting his efforts into a revolutionary town car, dubbed the T.25 concept, and as yet only sketches of the vehicle have been released.
But at the recent anniversary celebrations of Gordon Murray Design Limited, what appeared to be a large birthday present was wheeled out. It wasn’t, of course, a new pair of slippers for Murray, but rather the T.25 concept wrapped in plastic.
Pictures of the event were put on the firm’s website and thus the car received its first airing. What is clear is that it will be incredibly short, even when compared to the original Mini and Fiat 500 that stood either side, and it will be very tall.
The wheels are pushed out to the corners and appear almost completely exposed, apart from high wings/ mud guards that sit above them. There is definitely something a little toy town about the car but Murray’s vision is clearly that it will be a spiritual successor to the 500 and Mini. With his previous track record there’s a good chance he might be right.
