The Prius - a PH favourite...
The Toyota Prius. Arguably not the most PH car ever to grace our streets, but now Toyota could be looking to change that. The carmaker is hoping to expand the hybrid model into a whole range and part of the line-up would be a more driver oriented coupe.
There would still be a five-door Prius, the same as we have now, but also a sleeker two-door with sloping roofline, lower ride height and more sporting proportions. According to leftlanenews.com, the new Prius coupe would have the same drivetrain as the hatch but would have a much lower curb weight, thus giving it improved performance.
Also in the pipeline is a Prius pickup truck, but this has apparently not yet been decided. The new Prius range is expected around 2012.
