Maserati has launched a range of go-faster parts for the Gran Turismo, with the promise of more goodies to come in 2009.
The new MC Sport Line – named after the Maserati Corse racing department – is being showcased at the Bologna motor show on a fully-optioned Gran Turismo S. New parts will be introduced through next year, with the intention that MC Sport Line parts will be available for every model in the Maserati line-up.
Gran Turismo S customers get the goodies first – starting early next year. As well as the obvious visual/aero tweaks, there are also a number of technical upgrades available.
Starting with the obvious, the new front and rear spoilers are said to optimise aerodynamic loading, as well as giving the Gran Turismo S a distinctive appearance. The same can be said of the side skirts, which have a central panel finished in fashionable matt black.
The range of exterior options also includes carbon fibre mirror housings and door handles, as well as the 20ins glossy black wheels pictured.
Interior options include MC Sport Line-embossed carbon fibre door sills, and the material also features in the steering wheel, paddle shifters and central transmission tunnel.
The less obvious bits include stiffer springs with uprated shocks and anti-roll bars, putting you 10mm closer to the tarmac and resulting in on-road performance that Maserati says is ‘utterly uncompromising’. All the MC Sport Line parts will be available separately, and prices remain TBC.
